Who is Rob Saunders and why should I listen to him?

After my formal training and receiving a Bachelor of Science in Marketing degree at Samford University, I worked with a national truck leasing company for thirteen years.  I spent most of my time in sales and marketing but all along I worked with computers.  When the company was sold in 1986 we opened a hardware store and ran it for 4 years. We used the computer for everything from payroll to bookkeeping to inventory control.  Back then the IBM AT was popular and and Bill Gates was still writing DOS. I then got into computer training and software development. I have also owned a mail order pest control company, run two 24 hour call centers and a fuel tax service.

As you can see, I have owned and run small businesses for may years as well as consulted with many more. My business, since 1989, has been working with small companies and home businesses helping them use their computers to benefit their companies.  I have worked and trained on most of the popular computer programs and many of the not so popular ones.  As a result, I know what works and what doesn't work.

Example #1

A few years ago before the Y2K (Year 2000) hit, I had a customer that called and knew that the software program they were using would not work after 1/1/2000.  My job was to go in, make recommendations and implement those recommendations.  I did and as a result, they were ready for 1/1/2000 AND they took a 1 week billing process and reduced it to a 2 hour process.  This made them very happy.

Example #2

A retail store wanted to automate their customer service and ordering processes.  Up until this time, everything was being done by hand - on paper.  We looked at the entire process and created a complete program that they could use to improve their customer service and reduce the amount of time it took to create and complete an order.  The net results was the ability to handle more business with the same amount of employees and provide better service.

I want to pass these tips, tricks and helps on to you.  My goal is to help you make your business more profitable.  If I am successful doing this we will all benefit.
