QuickBooks

For a small business QuickBooks is a great, inexpensive solution to your accounting needs.   

We have used QuickBooks since it was QuickBooks for DOS 1.0. in the early 1990s.  Unless you have special needs that can not be accomplished using QuickBooks or have a very large corporation or have special inventory accounting needs, you need to consider QuickBooks.  

We use the program for many situations such as:

• Time tracking and billing
• Automatic Invoicing
• Accounts Payable
• Accounts Receivable including Aging
• Job Costing
• Profit and Loss reports
• Balance Sheet reporting
• Customer revenue tracking
• Vendor and Contractor tracking and 1099s
• Automatic entry of monthly visa charges and debits from the bank
• And many other items

We use QuickBooks Pro due to the time tracking features.  There are other reasons to use the Pro version including better budgeting features, more form options, multiple user capability, multiple estimates per customer, custom price levels and other features.

There are many other QuickBooks versions available at this time including industry specific versions such as a contractor version, Accountants version, Point-of-Sale version and others.  We have not used these but are sure that they meet the same high standards as the Pro version.
